THE goals

Sophisticated and eclectic, the SOPHY Hotel embodies the crafts and passions of art, science, literature and music that are the inspiration of today’s Hyde Park. The goal of the art program was to visually celebrate the rich history of this unique neighborhood with a nod to the historical references of important events and people. The art program was also intended to create an approachable, neighborhood gathering space vibe.

THE STORY

Chicago Art Source was tasked with meeting an aggressive timeline to research, curate, frame, deliver and install 600+ pieces of art for all hotel public and private areas. We not only leveraged our vast network of Chicago artists, but also collaborated with the Hyde Park Art Center and The Museum of Science & Industry to develop a wholly localized art program.

The project also involved five custom original commissions, as well as managing all printing and licensing rights for giclee prints, photography and multimedia originals.

THE RESULTS

The results are a varied and unique art program with a high level of quality and character - delivered on time and in budget. Our comprehensive project management services from curation and framing to delivery and installation were crucial in delivering an eclectic, local program within an accelerated time frame.
